Worthing Coaches Set for Historic Journey as Worthing FC Begins National League Adventure
30th July 2026
Worthing Coaches is preparing for one of the longest trips in English football as it transports Worthing FC and its supporters to the club's historic opening fixture in the National League.
Following promotion last season, Worthing FC will compete in the fifth tier of English football for the first time in the club's 140-year history. Their first away fixture sees them travel to Carlisle United, a round trip of approximately 748 miles, making it the longest away journey across the top five divisions of English football.
As Worthing FC's official team and supporter travel provider, Worthing Coaches will be transporting both the first-team squad and travelling supporters for the landmark occasion, with 26 supporters already booked to make the journey north.
To put the distance into perspective, the return journey from Worthing to Carlisle is even longer than travelling from Worthing to Paris, which is approximately 660 miles return.
Jit Desai, Commercial Director at Worthing Coaches, said:
"This is a landmark moment for Worthing FC, and we're incredibly proud to play our part in helping the team and supporters reach such an important fixture.
"The journey to Carlisle is a huge undertaking, but it's one we're well prepared for. Supporting local sport and the community has always been important to us, and we're looking forward to being part of what will be a memorable day in the club's history."
The fixture marks the beginning of a new chapter for Worthing FC as they compete at the highest level the club has ever reached, with supporters making the journey to back the Rebels on their National League debut.
Worthing Coaches has proudly supported the club as its official travel partner, providing reliable transport for players, staff and supporters throughout the season.
