The Coach Travel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Fraser as Regional Managing Director of London and the South East region.
A well-respected professional in the coach travel industry with over 30 years experience, during which time Ian led the growth of Kent-based coach operator The Kings Ferry and National Express Transport Solutions.
Ian has extensive experience in managing the unique challenges facing the transport sector, including the progress towards low-carbon travel, passenger safety and the adoption of innovative new technology.
“I’m delighted to join The Coach Travel Group. It's formation is one of the most significant developments the UK coach travel industry has seen in many years,” said Ian.
“I’ll be working hard with my colleagues across the region to continue the good work being done to offer passengers leading levels of safety, comfort, convenience and customer service. We are unique in being a national group created by local coach travel operators, bringing together years of expertise and trusted reputations in the communities they serve.”
Tom Stables, CEO at The Coach Travel Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the group, who arrives with extensive experience from his time at National Express and The Kings Ferry. His knowledge of the coach transport sector will play a considerable role in the coming months and years as we continue to build our position as an industry leader. I’m looking forward to working with him as we build our presence in London and the South East.”
Established in June 2024, The Coach Travel Group was formed by the strategic merger of Alpine Travel, Barnes Coaches, Coatham Coaches, JH Coaches, Johnsons Coaches, The Ready Group, Swans Travel and Whittles.
Since then, Stewarts Coaches and Horseman Coaches have also joined the group that now employs approximately 700 people with more than 450 vehicles in its fleet. Its focus is on leveraging the extensive experience and investment across the operators to provide a best-in-class service offering to its customers.
Ian added, "I look forward to supporting our team as they continue building on The Coach Travel Group’s growing reputation. Looking ahead, there are challenges for coach operators, but I am confident we are best placed to continue to offer a great service to our partners and passengers.”
