Tom Stables moves to Non-Executive Director role as Keith Dorling becomes Chief Executive Officer
The Coach Travel Group (CTG) has announced changes to its senior leadership team, with Tom Stables moving from Chief Executive Officer to Non-Executive Director and Keith Dorling joining the Group as Chief Executive Officer.
Tom has led CTG since the Group was formed more than two years ago, helping bring together a growing network of independent coach operators and establishing CTG as the UK’s leading independent coach operator group.
Today, the Group employs more than 1,100 people across 19 locations nationwide.
Tom will remain closely involved with the Group as a Non-Executive Director, continuing to bring his knowledge of the coach industry and experience of building CTG from its beginnings.
Tom Stables said:
“Leading CTG since we started has been a hugely rewarding experience. We have come a long way in a relatively short space of time and I’m incredibly proud of what the team across the Group has achieved.
“Moving into the Non-Executive Director role means I can continue to be involved and support the Group, while Keith takes on the day-to-day leadership of the business. We have a great team across CTG and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the years ahead.”
Keith Dorling joins CTG with extensive experience of leading and growing large, multi-site businesses.
He is currently Managing Director of Algeco UK and has previously held senior leadership positions with Wolseley UK, Interserve and Johnson Controls. His experience includes leading business transformation, strategic acquisitions and large-scale operational and commercial teams.
At Wolseley UK, Keith held a number of senior roles, including Group Managing Director of the Plumbing and Heating division and Group Managing Director of the Infrastructure Group. Before that, he was Managing Director of Interserve’s Civil Government Division, where he led a significant turnaround of the business.
Keith will work with the teams across CTG and its operating companies as the Group continues to grow its national network while maintaining the local identity and expertise of its individual businesses.
Keith Dorling said:
“I’m really pleased to be joining CTG at such an interesting point in its development. What has been built since the Group was formed is impressive, particularly the strength of the individual businesses and the people behind them.
“The coach industry has an important role to play in how people travel, and there is a real opportunity for CTG to continue growing while maintaining the qualities that have made its businesses successful. I’m looking forward to meeting the teams across the Group, getting to know the businesses and working together on the next stage of CTG’s journey.”
The Board would like to thank Tom for his leadership since CTG was formed and looks forward to continuing to benefit from his experience in his new role.
The Group also looks forward to welcoming Keith and working with him as CTG continues to develop its national presence.
